Seeing all those fellows mucking around with the Quidditch pitch reminded me of one thing.
Where on Earth has the year gone?
It seems like only yesterday we were all getting on the Hogwarts Express and wondering what the foreign students would be like. And in a few short days, it'll be the first game of the tournament.
And Halloween, too. All this talk of costumes and dates? Bloody hell reminds me that I'd better get cracking with mine. I haven't really done much except ask Mum to owl over Professor Da (and Gramp's) old Auror robes.

I found a very good quote in a Muggle novel by Harper Lee the other day, which I think best describes what I am referring to as the Potions fiasco: "You never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them."
Well, dear Hogwarts staff, I think I speak for all of us when I say that while that may be an admirable lesson, I would prefer that next time, it be a little less...practical? Walking in someone else's shoes may be all well and good, but I think us lads would rather not do it in heels and a dress.

This is in relation to one Robert Flannigan - the Head Girl and I have discussed it, and we feel that the next time he physically hurts another student, he should suffer some form of detention. If there's one thing I learned from my Da and from my own experiences, it's that bullying should have no place at Hogwarts.
So what we're asking is for you to keep a discreet eye on him, and if you hear of him misbehaving, to let either one of us know and we will act accordingly.
Does that sound fair?

Firstly, a warm congratulations to those of you on the Hogwarts team. I'm not exactly what you might call a betting man, but looking at that lineup? I am certain that we will give the other teams a good run for their money.
Secondly, I am sure that our friends from Durmstrang now know that when Coach McCormack says 'closed session', she really does mean 'closed session'.
I trust this will not give the teams from Salem or Beauxbatons any ideas - I would hate for you give Coach McCormack (or your own coaches) an excuse to get creative with punishments.

Well, maybe just a little.
Quidditch might just be a hobby, but I can't imagine a year without touching a broom. Though I might have more than enough on my plate as it is, what with Head Boy duties, and preparing for NEWTs.
Still, at least Eddie got in. Thank Merlin. She'd be impossible to live with, otherwise.
